On February 18-19 Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan) hosted the V international conference “Human resource management: results and perspectives”. The goal of the conference was to sum up the results of the HR management activity in Kazakhstan, USN countries and other countries for the period from 1999 to 2010, to exchange ideas and to discuss of further perspectives.

On February 10 and 11 the Tomsk Polytechnic University hosted the IV session of the Committee on Modernization and Technological Development of Economy of Russia chaired by the president of Russian Federation Dmitriy Medvedev.

On September 5th the Centre held the graduation ceremony of the 2008-2009 year students.

From August 31st to September 3rd the Centre hosted the individual project presentations by “Reservoir Evaluation and Management” and the “Petroleum Engineering” graduates, introduced to the certification commission.

On July 5th the Centre welcomed a delegation from OAO “Gazprom neft” led by the adviser of the director general Reval N. Mukhametzyanov.

Eight teachers of the Centre took part in the workshop-seminar by Schlumberger “Introductory course on software Avocet IAM”, which lasted 2 days.

On July 2009 specialists of the Centre have successfully defended the test production project of Vasilyevskoye oil field (ownership by ZAO “Samara-nafta”).

The Centre finished the recruitment compaign 2009-2010.

On June 24-26 the Petroleum Learning Centre hosted the presentations of the FDP projects by the students of the “Petroleum Engineering” and “Reservoir Evaluation and Management” courses.

On June 25th the winners of the “Best Msc programme” award were defined by the jury.
